“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)

There is such a comfort when we know that we are seen, especially by someone important. It makes us more confident and we get a “skip in our step”. But, when we feel unseen, even if it’s just by the people around us, we tend to act the opposite. And today’s verse brings to light an important truth. We are ALWAYS seen. And not just by anyone, but by the Creator of the Universe Himself. And Psalm 139, verses 7-12, gives us more insight into this - there is nothing in this world that could hide us or where we could hide from God. He sees us. We are known by Him and He discerns our every thought (Psalm 139:1-2). Even before we were born, while we were still in our mother’s womb, God saw us and He already knew the number of our days before there was any of them (Psalm 139:15-16). And, He also hears our cries when we call out to Him (Psalm 116:1-2).

And so today, let this be a reminder for your heart and mind that whether you are “seen” by people or not, there is someone who always sees you. You are not overlooked or forgotten or alone. The Lord of heaven and earth is mindful of you (Psalm 8:3-4). Look to Him and rest assured in this one thing: God sees you.

“The Lord looks down from heaven;
    He sees all the children of man;
from where He sits enthroned He looks out
    on all the inhabitants of the earth,
He who fashions the hearts of them all
    and observes all their deeds.”
(Psalm 33:13-15)
