Delight in the Lord

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

How many times, I wonder, we have sought after God’s hand instead of His heart. And God is a good God and He answers. But there is more. He is inviting us to know Him, to delight in Him, to desire to be in His presence more than anything else in this world. To be His friend, like Abraham. To walk with Him, like Enoch. To be the ones that He can call a man/woman after His own heart. God is calling us to a deeper understanding of who He is. He is calling us to come up higher, to view things from His perspective. He is calling us to understand the height, the depth, the length and the width of His love for us. To know true joy and peace that can only come in His presence. He is calling us to Himself. And as we seek to delight in Him, He in turn takes care of the desires of our hearts.
